The answer to this question is taken from Quran tafseer written by famous Islamic Scholar Syed Abu Alla Madoudi.

 

It is the translation and tafseer of Surah Baqrah Ayat 143

  

وَكَذَلِكَ جَعَلْنَاكُمْ أُمَّةً وَسَطًا لِّتَكُونُواْ شُهَدَاء عَلَى النَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ الرَّسُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ شَهِيدًا وَمَا جَعَلْنَا الْقِبْلَةَ الَّتِي كُنتَ عَلَيْهَا إِلاَّ لِنَعْلَمَ مَن يَتَّبِعُ الرَّسُولَ مِمَّن يَنقَلِبُ عَلَى عَقِبَيْهِ وَإِن كَانَتْ لَكَبِيرَةً إِلاَّ عَلَى الَّذِينَ هَدَى اللّهُ وَمَا كَانَ اللّهُ لِيُضِيعَ إِيمَانَكُمْ إِنَّ اللّهَ بِالنَّاسِ لَرَؤُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ ﴿١٤٣

 

 And it is thus that We appointed you to be the community of the middle way so that you might be witnesses to all mankind and the Messenger might be a witness to you. We appointed the direction which you formerly observed so that We might distinguish those who follow the Messenger from those who turn on their heels. For it was indeed burdensome except for those whom Allah guided. And Allah will never leave your faith to waste. Allah is full of gentleness and mercy to mankind.”

 

 Muslims are the guiding people. The can not be kept in guidance of other people or can’t kept in slavery of other.

 

The first part of this Ayah is the announcement of the Imamate of the Ummah of Muhammad. “In the same way” refers to both sides: to the guidance of Allah, by which those who follow the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) know the straight path, and as they progress, they reach the stage of being called the Ummat e Wasat “Middle Ummah”. Given, and also to the handing over of the Dome, that the ignorant consider it merely a turn from one direction to another, whereas in fact the turning from Jerusalem to the Ka’bah means that Allah formally removed the Children of Israel from the position of world leader and placed the Muhammadan Ummah on it.

 

The word “ummat e wasat” has such a wide meaning that it cannot be translated by any other word. It refers to a noble and noble group, which is based on the method of justice and mediation, which is the president among the nations of the world, which is related to all equally and unjustly, Don’t have an affair with anyone.

 

Then he said that you have been created as a Ummat e Wasatmiddle nation” because “you are witnesses over the people and the Messenger is a witness over you”, then it means that in the Hereafter when the whole of mankind will be accounted for together. At that time, the Messenger will testify to you as our responsible representative that the teachings of right thinking and righteous deeds and the system of justice which we have given him, he has conveyed to you in full. He gave and practiced accordingly. After that, as the Messenger’s successor, you will have to rise up as a witness over the common people and testify that you have conveyed to them what the Messenger conveyed to you, and what the Messenger showed you. You did your best to show them.

 

Thus, the appointment of a person or a group to the position of witness by God in this world is, in fact, to elevate him to the position of Imamate and Peshwa. Where there is virtue and supremacy, there is also a great burden of responsibility. This means that just as the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) became a living witness of piety, righteousness, justice and righteousness for this ummah, so this ummah should be a living witness for the whole world, even in its words and deeds. And behave, let the world know by looking at everything that God-fearing is its name, that is righteousness, that is what the courts call it and that is what is righteousness. This also means that just as the responsibility of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) to convey God’s guidance to us was very strict, even if he had made the slightest omission in it, he would have been derived by Allah. We have a very strong responsibility to convey this guidance to human beings. If we are the court of God, we will not be able to bear witness that we have not failed to convey your guidance which was conveyed to us through your messenger to your servants. This pride of leadership will take us there. There are times of our Imamate. Due to our shortcomings, all the misguidance in thought and practice has spread in the world and all the mischief and sedition have taken place in the land of God. shall be. We will be asked where you died when there was a storm of disobedience, oppression and misguidance in the world.
