INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 Big size green chilies
  • oil 
  • 1/2 cup white sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup peanuts
  • 1/2 cup coconut powder
  •  3 to 4 Almonds
  • 5 tsp coriander powder
  • 5tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • salt to taste
  • red chili powder to taste
  • pinch of fenugreek seeds 
  • pinch of mustard seeds
  • 10 dried curry leaves
  • 4 tbsp yogurt
  • 4tbsp tamarind pulp
  • 1 onion
  • ginger garlic paste

Step # 01

Roast the sesame seeds, peanuts,coconut powder and almonds in a fry pan one by one.

Step # 02

Grind all of them one by one till it becomes little oily. Then mix them and make paste as sown in picture. 

Step # 03

Roast the medium size onion and grind it also along with dry fruits paste. Add little water to make fine paste.

Step # 04

Take a saucepan and fried the Big green chilies in oil as shown in picture.

Step # 05

Set the fried green chilies aside. Then in the same oil and saucepan add pinch of fenugreek, mustard seeds, dried curry leaves and ginger garlic paste. After the lovely fragrance add paste of onion and roasted dried fruits. Shortly after add cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste. Let it cook for few minutes then add 4 tbsp.  yogurt. 

Now add fried green chilies and let it set on medium flame for few minutes and add 4 tbsp.  of tamarind pulp. Add pinch of red chili powder if required . When oil comes on the top of all masala paste and it seems to be ready then add 2 cups of water add put it on low flame for 15 to 20 minutes till the green chilies become soft and mixed in masala.

Turn off the flame. Your lovely mirchi salan is ready to serve 🙂
